Nessa’s Oblation is a brand-new Shotgun added in Destiny 2 with the release of the Root of Nightmares Raid. This weapon can roll with a unique Perk combination, making it incredible in PvE content. Nessa’s Oblation has a Pinpoint Slug Frame, meaning it fires a single-slug round. Additionally, the weapon’s recoil pattern is more predictably vertical. Slug Shotguns are a fan-favorite archetype in PvP due to their accuracy and tendency to one-shot Guardians.
Guardians can only obtain Nessa’s Oblation from the Root of Nightmares Raid. This Shotgun is a potential drop from the first and second encounters, as well as the Nesarec boss fight in Destiny 2. Challenging Root of Nightmares on Master difficulty will instead drop the Adept version of Nessa’s Oblation. This will come with increased base stats and allow Guardians to slot in Adept Mods to boost stats even further. While still challenging, Root of Nightmares is one of the easiest Raids currently in the game. This makes acquiring the Shotgun obtainable by most players. Additionally, Guardians do not need to finish the entire Raid for this loot.
How To Get The Nessa’s Oblation God Rolls
While completing encounters in the Root of Nightmares Raid, players can earn a Deep Sight, or Red-Bordered, version of these weapons. Once enough Patterns are extracted, Guardians can craft these guns at The Enclave on Mars. This can alleviate the need to search for a specific roll of a weapon. For example, Nessa’s Oblation can come with seven different Perks in the third and fourth columns, searching for the perfect God Roll difficult. In a video by Ehroar on YouTube, he goes over the various Perks and which combinations Guardians should focus on.

The God Rolls for each game mode benefit from Arrowhead Break and Assault Mag. These significantly control recoil while increasing stability, fire rate, and handling speed. For PvP, players want to take Reconstruction, as this slowly reloads the weapon from reserves up to double the size of the magazine. This effect happens even while the Shotgun is stowed. Vorpal Weapon increases damage to bosses, vehicles, and Guardians using their Supers.
The Origin Trait Harmonic Resonance further increases damage to Guardians using their Supers, as well as Lucent Hive and Tormentors.
In PvE content, players want to select Repulsor Brace as their Perk in the third column. This grants an over shield when defeating Void-debuffed enemies. In season 20, the Artifact Mod Volatile Flow grants Volatile rounds to Void weapons upon picking up an Orb of Power. Fortunately, Guardians can still maintain this powerful debuff outside of Season of Defiance with Destabilizing Rounds. The Perk states that final blows cause nearby targets to become Volatile. This combination is unique to Nessa’s Oblation, making it incredibly powerful in PvE content. While most players will search for the Conditional Finality Exotic Shotgun in Destiny 2, this is a great alternative. All players should add Nessa’s Oblation to their arsenal.
